Abstract Lyotropic liquid crystal (LLC) gels are a new class of (LC) networks that combine the anisotropy micellar LLCs with mechanical stability gel. However, so far, only LLC lamellar and hexagonal structures have been obtained by addition gelators to LLCs. Here, first examples lyotropic nematic presented. The key obtain these is use non‐amphiphilic molecular structure thus leave size shape aggregates essentially unchanged. By adding phases, an easy reproducible way large amounts established. These preserve long‐range orientational order optical birefringence phase but promising materials for elastic anisotropic hydrogels be applied as water‐based stimuli‐responsive actuators sensors.
